Is It A Traffic Problem, Or A Conversion Problem?

Most founder-led luxury brands know growth has stalled. Fewer know why. Either not enough of the right people are finding you, or too few of the people who find you are buying. The fix for each is completely different, so it's worth knowing which one you're dealing with before you spend anything.

This free diagnostic takes about three minutes. Enter last month's numbers from Shopify or GA4 and you'll see how your site compares with published benchmarks for your category, where visitors drop away, and which side of the problem we'd work on first.

What It Tells You

  • Whether your conversion rate is below, within or above the range for your category.

  • Where visitors drop away between landing, basket and order (or enquiry, for bespoke brands).

  • How much of your traffic comes from people who don't know you yet, and what would an extra 1,000 search visits be worth to you?

  • Three priorities based on your numbers, not generic advice.

What You'll Need

Last month's figures for the whole site:

  • Sessions, sessions with add-to-cart, orders and average order value (Shopify: Analytics → Reports → Conversion over time).

  • Optional but worth it: sessions and orders by channel (GA4: Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition). This is what answers the traffic question.

Sell through enquiries or appointments instead? Choose enquiry mode and enter enquiries, how many become a sale, and your average sale value.

Where The Benchmarks Come From

We only compare the two figures that have a reliable public source: conversion rate and add-to-cart rate, from Dynamic Yield's eCommerce Benchmarks for your industry. They're shown as ranges, because monthly figures move. Everything else in the diagnostic is your own data. Where there's no trustworthy benchmark, as with luxury enquiry rates, we don't invent one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your numbers and email come to No7. Digital only, so we can follow up if you'd like to talk them through. We don't add you to a newsletter. You can opt in separately to include your figures, anonymised, in our luxury e-commerce benchmark report.

Is my data stored?

1

Not necessarily. Luxury and jewellery sites convert at under 1% on average, far below the 2–3% figures quoted for e-commerce generally. That's why the diagnostic compares you with your own category, not with all retailers.

My conversion rate looks low. Should I worry?

Pair this with the Break-Even ROAS Calculator to check what return you actually need once product costs, returns and shipping are included.

Want To Talk It Through?

The tool only sees your numbers. On a 20-minute call we'll look at what it can't: the searches you're missing, who's taking them, and whether Google Shopping would pay for your margins.
